Christopher Sundell has been named the new Global Sales Manager at Øveraasen AS. With previous experience as Sales Manager in Sweden and North America, this transition reflects Øveraasen’s commitment to strengthening its global presence. Sundell’s appointment is a strategic move in the company’s ongoing efforts to drive international growth and solidify its leadership in the market. His expertise across key regions positions Øveraasen to further expand its reach and maintain its focus on innovation and customer success.
After establishing the Swedish subsidiary in 2020, Sundell took on the role of Sales Manager for North America in 2022. His close work with distributors and strategic planning has led to notable success. In recent years, Øveraasen has delivered machines to major airports like Toronto, Calgary, and Vancouver and more.
"Our machines are efficient and reliable, designed to perform over time. On my first trip to North America, I was unsure about the local conditions. After presenting the possibilities of autonomous operation and explaining our service follow-up, everyone looked at me as if I had just sold them a UFO!" Sundell jokes. "In reality, it’s easy to explain that the development of our machines and software in Norway impresses globally."
Øveraasen continues to grow. In Sweden, a new position has been created to boost sales, while two new employees in Norway will focus on the local market. With a global service hotline available 24/7, customers can receive the support they need, no matter the time zone. Christopher believes that Øveraasen’s strong customer support sets them apart from competitors and sees significant growth opportunities ahead.
"We will continue to focus on airports, railways, and roads. While we already lead the market in airport solutions, we aim to grow further in both railway and road sectors. The potential is huge, and we need to stay ahead of the curve to meet our goals," he says.
With a changing climate and increasingly unpredictable weather, Christopher also sees a shift in market needs. "Airports that typically don’t get snow are now dealing with it," he explains. "Naturally, they need snow removal machines."
The restructuring also brings changes to Christopher’s daily work routine. While his main base will remain at the Norrköping office, he will spend one to two weeks each month at the Gjøvik office.
"Gjøvik is where the production and development happen, and local presence is crucial," he says. "At the same time, I’ll be traveling the world to support our distributors and stay as close to the market as possible."
"I’m truly grateful for the trust I’ve been given. I take on this role with great respect and humility, and I’m eager to get started," he concludes.
