RS 600-Replace brush
WARNING!
Always wear protective equipment such as gloves and goggles when handling brushes.
NOTE!
Use original brush cassettes as recommended by Øveraasen AS.
The brush cassettes are replaced from the end of the brush shaft on both sides. The procedure is the same for both sides.
- Remove the bolts holding the brush carrier plates and set the brush carrier plates aside with bolts and lock washers.
- Remove the brush cassettes. If any brush cassettes are stuck use a wooden broomstick or similar to push them out.
- Wash the shaft with water and a high-pressure washer. Rotate slowly or push the shaft down on one side to allow water to drain.
- Check the aluminum profiles. These must not be so damaged that they make it difficult to replace the brush cassettes.
- Insert new brush cassettes. If the brush cassettes do not slide smoothly into the slots, lubricate them with silicone.
NOTE! Do not lubricate brush carriers and guides for brush cassettes with grease. Only lubricate with silicone-based lubricants.
- Put the brush carrier plates into place and replace the bolts with Norlock washers.
- Torque the bolts to 50 Nm. If the Norlock washers are worn, they will not lock and must be switched out with new Norlock washers.
- Start the engine.
- Carry out automatic brush calibration, see “7.2. Automatic brush calibration” in User Manual.
Comment! Let the brush spin for 5-8 minutes raised up ground level before using it. This is done to remove any loosened wires.
