Øveraasen has delivered a specially designed machine to Volvo’s test track in Hällered, just outside Gothenburg. This facility, used for testing Volvo’s passenger cars, imposes strict requirements for clearing and maintenance to ensure summer-like conditions year-round.
The custom-built machine, based on the Øveraasen RS 200 sweeper and blower, was developed to meet the unique demands of the test track. The facility spans a total length of 32 km across 16 test tracks, including a 6.2 km high-speed track with curves featuring inclines of up to 74 degrees.
To handle these challenging curves, the blower system was specially designed to follow the track’s curvature. This ensures optimal performance and efficient clearing across all parts of the track, regardless of the conditions.
The test track operates 24/7, with continuous test driving of Volvo’s passenger cars. The efficiency and reliability of the machine are crucial for maintaining optimal testing conditions at all times.
