A total weight of 45 tons, 2,100 horsepower, and a capacity of around 12,000 tons per hour — these are just some of the impressive numbers behind our latest delivery to Oslo Airport.
"This is the world’s largest and most powerful airport snow blower," says Stein Erik Pettersen, Key Account Manager at Øveraasen. The machine in question is a TV 2100 self-propelled snow blower, produced in Gjøvik and equipped with an upgraded engine.
According to Stein Erik, Øveraasen is the only manufacturer in the world capable of delivering such a machine. The collaboration with Avinor has been close throughout the entire process, involving several departments and dedicated employees.
Similar snow blowers are planned for delivery to more airports both domestically and internationally over the coming year. Snow blowers are considered critical emergency vehicles at airports, where speed and efficiency are essential to meet strict snow removal and operational time requirements.
"This is a handcrafted machine, with thousands of working hours invested in its production," says Stein Erik proudly.
