Snow blowers bound for Antarctica

Recently, British Antarctic Survey ordered a new Øveraasen UTV 600 Snow Blower

British Antarctic Survey operates three research stations throughout the year in in the Antarctic, and two during the summer. It also operates Ny-Ålesund Research Station in the Arctic on behalf of the Natural Environment Research Council.

 

After a long journey across the globe, the UTV 600 MK II will end up at Rothera Research Station, to replace an old Øveraasen Snow Blower.
