It is a time of mourning in Norway as we remember King Harald V, a beloved monarch who, throughout his long life, helped shape modern Norway.

For us at Øveraasen, this also brings back memories of a long history and encounters with the Norwegian Royal Family.
Øveraasen’s history dates back to 1908. Just one year later, the company had its first connection with the Royal Family during the opening of the Bergen Railway in 1909.
In the photographs, we see Even Øveraasen together with King Haakon VII during the Jubilee Exhibition marking Gjøvik’s 50th anniversary in 1911, and John Øveraasen together with King Olav V during Gjøvik’s centennial celebration in 1961.
These historic moments tell a small part of our own story, and of a company that, through generations, has been part of Norway’s development.
May King Harald V rest in peace
